About SK-II

SK-II is a Japanese skincare brand, launched in 1980 and part of Procter & Gamble since 1991. It's built around one ingredient, PITERA. SK-II developed it after its scientists noticed the soft, youthful-looking hands of elderly sake brewers, whose hands were in daily contact with yeast fermentation.

PITERA is SK-II's exclusive, naturally derived ingredient, made through a proprietary fermentation process of a unique yeast strain. SK-II says it contains over 50 micro-nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and organic acids. The brand's signature product, Facial Treatment Essence, contains over 90% PITERA, and SK-II calls it its best-selling essence in Japan.

A simple routine. Morning and night, cleanse with Facial Treatment Gentle Cleanser, wipe on Facial Treatment Clear Lotion, then press in Facial Treatment Essence. Follow with a serum such as Skin Power Re-New Essence or Genoptics Advanced Spot Essence, then Skin Power Re-New Cream. In the morning, finish with Genoptics Airy UV Cream SPF50+.
