The meeting served as a platform to formally introduce LMCHING and its affiliated e-commerce group, while providing an overview of Botswana’s national development priorities, investment environment, and key sectors for strategic cooperation. Discussions also focused on establishing a framework for the Foundation’s presence in Botswana and identifying the appropriate next steps for implementation.
During the preceding two days, the delegation held high-level engagements with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Trade and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of Local Government. These discussions explored potential investment and capital mobilisation opportunities across priority sectors, with the broader objective of supporting economic diversification, strengthening productive capacity, creating sustainable growth opportunities, and contributing to Botswana’s long-term GDP growth.

Farzam Kamalabadi
Farzam Kamalabadi is Botswana's Presidential Envoy on International Relations and Economic Development and a globally recognised strategist with more than 35 years of international experience. Renowned for his contributions to economic development, international trade, energy, and investment, he has advised governments, led landmark cross-border initiatives, and played a key role in shaping major economic policies. His appointment reflects Botswana's ambition to accelerate economic growth, attract global investment, and strengthen its position as a leading business and investment hub in Africa.

Non-Bank Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA)
The purpose of the meeting was to lmching and its plans to NBFIRA; to understand NBFIRA’s mandate, regulatory perimeter and licensing regime across traditional (non-bank) and digital finance; and to agree on next steps toward entity registration and phased licence applications in Botswana.

The purpose of the meeting was to introduce and its affiliated financial and industrial capabilities to the Ministry; to receive the Ministry’s briefings on the minerals and energy sectors; to present diagnosis of the energy sector and its proposed solutions and implementation structures; and to agree next steps for cooperation in support of investment, industrialization and export capacity in Botswana’s minerals and energy sectors.
