Face mask or Facial mask is an important component of the modern skincare routine. In the standard 10 step Korean routine, the 7th step is the application of face masks. There are many different types of facial masks that provide different benefits and treat different skin concerns.

Face Masks for skin care were originally only in the form of mask sheets. With the rapid advancement of skincare science and product innovations, the face mask is a rich product line with a lot of exciting products. With the inventiveness of the Korean manufacturers, they offer the consumers of face masks using a rich variety of natural ingredients, including plant extracts, collagen, and vitamins. Many Korean face masks are designed to deal with different skin concerns, such as acne, wrinkles and fine lines, skin redness and dullness.

With the face masks resting on the skin for a reasonable duration, mostly 15 to 20 minutes, the concentrated active ingredients and vital factors that are soaked in the masks can be absorbed into the skin thoroughly. Face masks can boost up the benefits of the whole skincare routine effectively. As face masks are becoming more and more important as a skincare product group, we find it is justifiable to allocate them to a single product collection.

Facial Masks and Sheet Masks, depending on their ingredients, providing many benefits such as deep skin hydration or moisturizing, improving of skin texture by refining pores, cleaning clogged pores, enhancing skin youthfulness by minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, supporting the production of skin collagen, fighting off free radicals and skin dark spots. They can upgrade the effects of your skincare routine if used properly. However, some face masks contain concentrated active ingredients, if they are applied to the wrong skin type or wrong skin concerns, they can cause harm rather than good. Active ingredients are powerful agents that can cause irritation, redness, burning, and other negative effects if used on the wrong skin type or exaggerate the skin issues rather than tamping them.

The safest approach to choose the right face masks for your skin should stick to the following three principles:

1) Take your regular skincare routine as your core frame of reference in order to choose the ingredients and brands of the face masks. As you have taken time to experiment and to learn the brands, the product ingredients and their effects before you settle them down as the combo of your skincare routine, you should be familiar with the products of the brands very well. Since most skincare brands offer facial masks as one of their product lines, you can easily find facial masks with ingredients that you have already adapted to very well.

2) Before trying something new from a brand that you are not familiar with, for skin concerns that are not treated well by the products you are currently using, you should always check out the products ingredients, how are their compatibility with your skin types and what effects they should be on treating your skin concern. Remember, always begin with small trials, if there are any problems, stop immediately and seek professional advice.

3)Tamp your urge to use skin masks daily, especially those that provide deep cleaning, oil and dust absorption and exfoliation, they may lead to irritation or over-drying of the skin. Following the product instructions, normally 2 to 3 times a week would be sufficient. Those with very sensitive skin, once per week or longer is recommended.

Our Face Mask collection has a few hundred facial mask products and the size of our product portfolio will grow continuously in response to the rate of product innovation. We are skewed toward Korean origin products due to their attractive quality to price ratio. Though we are open to products of other origins if their quality, pricing, availability etc match our merchandising standard.

Our Sheet Mask sub-collection has the largest range of products containing nearly 60% of the Face Mask collection. Sheet masks are made of microfibre of cotton, rayon or cellulose that are cut in face shape and soaked with serums, essences and other skincare ingredients. Thanks to the continuous product innovations by the Korean brands, besides providing the basic benefit of skin moisturizing and soothing, the Korean sheet masks have rich product varieties dealing with different skin issues such as sensitive skin, skin aging, acne and clogged pores, skin pigmentation and many others. As a sheet mask is always placed onto the face and resting for 10 to 15 minutes, this ensures the concentration ingredients are fully absorbed by the skin cells, this skin spa can pamper your skin health condition effectively.

In the Mask Sheet sub-collection, you can find the products from many popular Korean brands such as AHC, Abib, Dr. Jart+, Innisfree and Mediheal, just to name a few. As usual, the Korean products use mostly natural ingredients like green tea, rose, aloe, cucumber or herbal extracts. You can easily find the right products to supplement your skincare routine.

Mask sheets are sold at 10 pieces per pack. One sheet costs from $2 to $4 each. It is very affordable and offers the best value for money. However, one drawback of the mask sheet is its one-size-fits-all design, particularly for a person with complex skin type with different skin conditions in different parts of the face, or having a localized skin issue. Then a mask sheet that handles a particular skin concern may not be flexible enough to just deal with the local area.

To rescue the inflexibility and high wastage of the mask sheets to deal with localized skin issues, there are facial masks of various physical forms introduced to the market. The facial masks can be in the form of cream, gel, clay, mud and semi-solids etc. They are blended with active ingredients and are applied onto the face surface as thin layers. They can be applied locally not necessarily the whole face compared to mask sheet, they are more skin issue specific and cost effective.

Around 40% of the Face Mask Collection are facial mask products. We group them into 8 sub categories and give you a short guide tour in the following.

Bubble masks are mostly used for face cleansing, refining pores and mild skin toning. They are in many physical forms such as clay, cream, and gel. After applying a layer on the face, bubble foam is formed after exposing it to the air. The bubble foam can act on the skin to produce deep skin cleansing and absorbing grease and dirt from pores. Depending on the product, the foam is rested on the face for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinsed off by water. Bubble masks provide gently scrubbing to the face and remove unclogging skin pores and treating acne effectively.
